You a K’s Choice fan? This story reminded me of a song of theirs:
“Tomorrow I was nothing, yesterday I’ll be
Time has fooled me into thinking it’s a part of me
Nothing in this room but empty space
No me, no world, no mind, no face”
Anyway, what are the rules? I say no contractions or acronyms, if only because I’m in a mean mood tonight. Also, remember pictures count for a thousand words, which means your first illustrated story can’t appear until 2010.
No, actually that is the first I’ve heard of K’s Choice. But thanks for the tip — I’ll look for some of their music.
Rules? Well, I don’t want to get too pedantic… It’s more about finding creative ways to express a story than finding ways to make it difficult for myself. Plus, I get to make the rules up. ;)
I want the stories to sound natural, so contractions are in (they have to be — I already used one in story number four!). We’ll see about acronyms when the time comes that I want to use one… Once I get into the slightly longer stories, I was just going to use a word processor for the “word count” feature.
I hadn’t considered that, but (assuming the stories don’t turn out to suck too much!) the site’s format would fit nicely into those page-a-day style calendars. Who knows?

Any thoughts to publishing a calendar when you’re done?
